Wellington: Public meeting and films, Saturday 30th May

The Aotearoa Workers Solidarity Movement invites everyone to two events being held on Saturday 30th May in Wellington.

Community organising and water metering in Auckland

The Aotearoa Workers Solidarity Movement presents a public meeting with Jim Gladwin, Auckland-based libertarian socialist and community activist. Jim will talk about his experiences of political organising in Auckland, especially his involvement with the Auckland Water Pressure Group campaigning against residential water metering. He will also talk about his ideas for radical political organising in Aotearoa / New Zealand.

Saturday 30th May, 2:30pm at the New Crossways Community Centre, 6 Roxburgh Street, Mt Victoria (off Majoribanks St).

Wellington: Public meeting with Barry Pateman, Sunday 24th May

The Aotearoa Workers Solidarity Movement invites everyone to a public talk by a vastly experienced British anarchist (currently living in the USA).

Barry Pateman is one of the editors of the Emma Goldman Papers and a curator of the Kate Sharpley Library (one of the largest anarchist libraries in the world). He is also editor of the book ‘Chomsky on Anarchism’ and is a co-founder of AK Press.

This Sunday (May 24th), 7pm onwards at the 128 activist community centre. Tea/Coffee provided. 128 Abel Smith St, Te Aro, Wellington.

Barry is briefly in New Zealand, and will give a talk on class, anarchist history and his experience working on the Emma Goldman Papers Project.
