Unions, referendums and anarchism - an AWSM discussion on the Unite $15 campaign

Unions, referendums and anarchism - an AWSM discussion on the Unite $15 campaign

Referendums? Petitions? Signatures? Is the Unite union’s $15 minimum wage campaign relevant to anarchists?

“Direct interaction with the very people we have been struggling to connect with is not something we should ignore, nor is the fact that for the first time in a long time people are being asked to question the wage system.”

- Matt Jones, Unite organiser and anarchist

The Aotearoa Workers Solidarity Movement is hosting an open discussion on the Unite citizens initiated referendum campaign to raise the minimum wage. Is it something we should be involved in? What are the benefits and what are the drawbacks? All welcome!
